Have you ever walked along the famous Wembley Way to watch a sporting event at the National Stadium? Well now speedway fans can have a similar experience on race nights when they walk along the approach road leading up to the main gates of the Beaumont Park stadium. We are proud to announce that the road is to be named after the speedway team – 1 The Lions.
What a fantastic gesture that Leicester City Council has bestowed on us to have a road name that incorporates the Leicester Speedway’s nickname.
Promoter David Hemsley said: “It is a great honour to have the main access road to the stadium having an identity with speedway and of course the Lions. I would like to thank Leicester City Council for offering us the opportunity to be involved with the naming of the road.”
